6:15PM-6:30 – Intro
6:30PM – Painting Session
After live painting, I will be chatting & answering questions.
My work is a marriage of old and new that nods to the past as well as to the future of traditional western landscape painting. A native to the high desert southwest, I am inspired by the subtlety of the landscapes and cultures of my home. I work in oil with a tendency towards a pallet of subdued naturalist grays and hues. My brushwork is layered and varied by adding and removing paint to create a surface that is interesting and tactile. Noted for strong compositions and unique design aesthetics I have been acquisitioned into notable corporate and private collections through representation at Acosta Strong Fine art in Santa Fe, New Mexico. My inaugural reception at the gallery in 2019 was sold out on its first weekend. As I continue to refine my unique vision of what western landscape painting has been and what it can be, I am creating a new series of paintings for the Coors Western Art Show in late 2020.
